NHS Entitlement
It's important to have regular eye checks - at least every two years, even if you feel you don't need glasses. At Chapple Opticians, we not only check whether your vision needs correction, we also carry out a thorough eye health examination.The NHS provide free eye examinations for people who qualify. You may be eligible for an NHS test if:
- You are aged 60 or over
- You are under 16, or under 19 and in full-time education
- You are registered blind or partially sighted with your Local Health Authority
- You suffer from diabetes or glaucoma
- You are aged 40 or over and have a parent, brother, sister or child who has, or had, glaucoma
- You have been prescribed complex lenses under the NHS optical voucher scheme
- You receive Income Support, Income Based Job Seekers' Allowance or Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
- You are named on, or entitled to, an NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate
- You are named on a valid HC2 or HC3 certificate
